SPRINGFIELD — Like everyone who works in the Roderick L. Ireland Courthouse, Hampden Register of Probate Rosemary Saccomani now gets weekly emails from the state detailing work in the building — inspections done, air filters and equipment installed, ceiling tiles replaced.

But there are other reminders of why the courthouse — a 46-year-old building with 550 workers and 1,300 to 1,700 visitors every business day — needs all this work.
