As someone who prioritizes a clean home, I value the importance of utilizing products that keep my house looking and feeling fresh. So, I have a deep appreciation for Dyson. The manufacturer sets the standard for achieving this, with products that promote a dirt- and dust-free home from the ground to the ceiling and clean the air of irritating (even harmful) particles.

I’m especially “floored” by the fleet of cordless vacuums. From picking up after my pets to erasing signs of the local beach, it’s extremely important for me to have a quality vacuum. Over the years, Dyson has become my brand of choice thanks to its lightweight designs, superior suction power, and incorporation of HEPA filters.

I’m also a big fan of Dyson’s air purifiers, which combine the benefits of air purification and a cooling fan (or heater!) in one sleek design. Living on a busy street and without central air has its setbacks, but both my cooling and heating purifying towers from Dyson offer welcomed reprieves.

A Dyson fan for years, I’ve tested out quite a few products as they’ve launched—many of which are still on the market, a testament to the brand’s quality and attention to each model. Keep reading to discover which Dyson products I put on a pedestal (including a few that are on sale!) and why you should consider adding them to your home.

I have to start with one of Dyson’s newest products. Thanks to a motor that spins at up to 125,000rpm, the Dyson V15 Detect is the brand’s most powerful cleaner that I’ve ever used. The lightweight vacuum (6.8 pounds) boasts up to 60 minutes of run time and 0.2-gallon bin, but more impressive is its two advanced cleaner heads—one of which uses laser illumination to reveal microscopic dust. I never knew I needed to see microscopic dust, but now that I have, I can’t unsee it! The laser technology has actually decreased my cleaning time, since I can pinpoint exactly where hidden dirt resides on my hard floors. Meanwhile, the other cleaner head powerfully picks up dust and hair from all floors without losing suction thanks to the 14 concentric cyclones.

When I first got the vacuum, I put it to test on my large area rug. Even though I had cleaned just a couple days prior, the dust bin filled up with the finest dirt I’ve ever seen, which was incredibly satisfying.

What I love the most about the V12 Detect Slim Absolute is its accessibility. The machine is 24 percent lighter than the V15 Detect while still squeezing in top features of that model, including laser illumination, the latest hair detangling technology, and the ability to intelligently optimize suction and run time.

Whereas other cordless Dyson vacuums require the user to hold the trigger continuously to run the machine, the V12 Detect Slim powers on with the press of a button. This more ergonomic push button is a first of its kind for Dyson vacuums—and a feature I hope is implemented into other machines moving forward.

While its 60-minute run time and 0.1 gallon bin capacity are smaller than other models, the V12 is great for a designated job. In my home, I store it in one of my bathrooms and use it daily to pick up cat litter. I would also highly recommend this machine for anyone who may suffer from arthritis or strength issues, since the push button design and lightness of the machine (5.2 pounds) make it very comfortable to use.

The Cyclone V10 Absolute was the first cordless vacuum cleaner I fell in love with. Much like my experience with the new V15 Detect, I couldn’t believe how quickly the large bin (0.2 gallons) filled up with grime despite how clean I was! Microscopic particles don’t stand a chance against the vacuum’s powerful 14 cyclones. The nearly 60-minute run time on a single charge coupled with a large bin, lightweight design (5.71 pounds) really set the bar for vacuum cleaning for me.

What sets the Outsize apart from the other cordless vacuums is its run time and capacity. This mighty machine is my go-to for a full deep house clean because it can vacuum up debris for up to 120 minutes of use on a single charge. The larger 0.5 gallon bin is 150 percent bigger than the V15 as well. Understandably, the increased capabilities come at a cost—weight and noise. It’s just a little bit heavier (7.98 pounds) and louder than the smaller versions, which isn’t exactly a big deal if your goal is to tackle a whole house.

To explain just how effective Dyson air purifiers are, we need to talk about pet allergies. While I do not have them myself, I have several friends who do. Whether they spend a few hours in my house or sleep in the guest room, they never complain about having an allergy attack. I believe that running my Dyson air purifiers and effective vacuuming makes all the difference in combating symptoms like itchy, watering eyes and congestion.

The Dyson Purifier Cool Autoreact is a slim, sleek design that doesn’t take away from the aesthetics of my home. The latest addition to the Dyson air purifier line up, the Autoreact has been re-engineered to deliver 50 percent cleaner air using an intelligent sensing with an advanced filtration system. The activated carbon filter removes gases and odors, while the HEPA filter captures 99.97 percent of particles 0.3 microns in size. The brand’s reputable motors are capable of generating circulation power to draw even distant pollutants into the machine at a rate of 77 gallons of air a second, thereby quickly purifying—even cooling—a whole room.
